2018 Day 1&2 Raytheon Negotiations

2018 Contract Negotiations

On Monday September 24, 2018:

Tour of Plant

Sisters and Brothers, your negotiating committee toured the plant-site with International President Bob Martinez, Western Territory General Vice President Gary Allen, Chief of Staff Bobby Martinez, Aerospace Coordinator Tony Blevins and Grand Lodge Representative Steve Nickel.

The tour gave our leadership an up-close view of how hard we work for our Company. We toured Rita Road factory side A and the CDC. We then had a presentation in Building 800 demonstrating our product lines and how each missile is used in the defense of our great nation. We ended the day with tours in Composites and the Machine Shop. We want to thank all of the membership for welcoming our leadership and explaining the tasks that each of you were performing while wearing your Union gear. Our Leadership was impressed and reiterated how hard we all work for this multi-billion-dollar corporation, and the professionalism that our membership showed.

On Tuesday September 25, 2018:

Opening Day

Your Union started the day meeting with the Company Vice Presidents and their negotiating team, addressing each other’s expectations in this round of bargaining.

International President Bob Martinez expressed to the Raytheon Executives our positions on Healthcare (cost and design), Wages (unacceptable), Pensions (those hired after 2007) and Job Security (Sub-Contracting and work performed by Engineers). Furthermore, Brother Bob Martinez warned the Company, they should not underestimate our membership nor their resolve.

GVP Gary Allen told the Company that they are in the position to take better care of their workforce for this contract and we will accept nothing less, as we will have every resource that the IAM has in its toolbox.

DBR Louie Martinez closed the session by stating our expectations for this round of bargaining, with emphasis on our members who need to be treated with respect, provide better security, increase wages, and affordable healthcare needs. He told them they did not treat us as equals when Raytheon was given big Tax credits. Furthermore, he stressed the need to provide a pension in order for our members to retire with dignity and financial security.

In closing we would like to thank all of you for your support, with special thanks to the members who are attending the rallies and wearing Union gear. With all of your help we will make this a contract we can all be proud of!

Justice Delayed is Just-Us-Denied!

Thank you,
